600 g plain flour

2 tsp dried yeast

2 tsp caster sugar

2 tsp salt

800 ml full cream milk, warmed

½ tsp bicarb soda


Mix together all the dry ingredients. Stir through the warm milk and mix until a smooth batter is formed. Cover with cling film and set aside for 2 hours.

Once the mix has bubbled up and doubled in size, heat a non-stick pan, add a small splash of oil and spoon in the desired amount of mixture. Flip once bubbling and serve with jam or honey if desired.
