Braised Beef

1 kg stewing beef
1 Spanish onion cut into half
2 sticks of celery
1 carrot
2 Litres of water
Salt and pepper
100g Plain flour
100ml of water


1. Place beef, onion, celery and carrot into a large saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil, when boiling turn down to a simmer and place on a tight fitting lid and simmer for at least 2-3 hours (add extra water if necessary)

2. After 2-3 hours the beef will be falling apart, add salt and pepper and bring to a gentle boil.

3. Mix together the flour and water until a smooth paste is made then whisk into the beef mix and it will thicken, you still need to simmer for another 2-3 minutes to cook the raw flour.

Cous Cous


Place 1/2 cup of water in a saucepan and bring to the boil.

Add 1/2 cup of cous cous to the boiling water. Turn off flame. Cover with a lid and allow to stand for 2-3 mins

Mix in 1 tsp of “magic herb”
