Ingredients

300ml milk
300ml buttermilk
6 egg yolks
150g flour
60g butter
2 drops vanilla essence
100g caster sugar

Method

Cream together the eggs, butter and sugar
Sieve in the flour
combine the milk and buttermilk place into saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer
whisk the flour and egg mix into the milk and stir over gentle heat for 10- 15 minutes, careful not to burn
Allow to cool before using
