Topless Apple Strudel

Ingredients

(Serves 8)
4 green apples, cored
125g cream cheese
50g raisons
¼ cup soft brown sugar
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 sheet extra flaky puff pastry
50g melted butter
50ml Marsala


Method

Line a flan tin with puff pastry. Blind bake (place a sheet of baking paper over the pastry, add 1 cup of rice) at 190°C for 10-12 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, brown sugar, most of the melted butter, a splash of the Marsala and nutmeg. Spread this mixture into the pre baked pastry base.

Sprinkle over with raisons.

Slice the apple really thin and cover over the flan in a circular pattern.

Brush with remaining melted butter and Marsala then bake at 195°C for 15-20 minutes.
